Experience behind Brendonhill
Legacy Lounge
Build what comes next.
When the economics of an existing format changed, the opportunity was not to shrink the idea. It was to give the IP a new form.

The context
What was being built.
Legacy Lounge grew out of the broader Legacy platform as a more intimate television format: conversations with leaders across arts, business, entertainment and culture rather than another large live awards production.
The project had to preserve the purpose and recognition associated with Legacy while working inside a different economic model. It required alignment across CBC, production partners, talent, locations, financing, marketing and a newly structured production entity.
Strong IP should be able to change shape without losing its purpose. The question was not how to make a smaller awards show. It was what format could carry the same mission more efficiently and create a more intimate kind of storytelling.

Beyond the deliverable
Legacy Lounge demonstrated that the Legacy idea could move from a large live celebration into a more intimate storytelling format without losing its cultural purpose. It also represented a material expansion in producer responsibility across development, financing, production, partnerships and delivery.
